Meet David, future Waterstone resident

A lifelong Newton, Mass. resident, retired dentist Dr. David Neustadt will be one of the many individuals making the move to Waterstone at Wellesley come this spring. The most serendipitous part of his move? His move-in date of April 10 happens to be his birthday.

Born and raised in Newton, David studied dentistry at Ohio State before returning to his home town soon after. He practiced dentistry on the corner of Beacon and Center streets in Newton for several decades before retiring, though “retired” isn’t exactly the word you’d use to describe him. He volunteered for nearly 20 years at his former practice, at Beth Isreal Hospital, and at Newton Wellesley Hospital before he stopped practicing, and now spends his time out in the community every day. He attends sculpture classes weekly and is an avid enthusiast of some of the finer things in life, including art, music and wine. His apartment at Waterstone at Wellesley, he said, will be filled with the fine art he has collected over the years from across the world.

“I just live a different kind of life,” David said. “I’m pretty active and upbeat. We only go this way once and I say, why waste the minutes? Why not live as best I can?”

One of the aspects that attracted David to Waterstone at Wellesley was its prime location in the heart of Wellesley, Mass. It’s proximity to stores, restaurants and other amenities is especially unique, he said.

“The location is just tremendous, because you’re close to everything. Wellesley is a lovely town,” he said. “They have the absolute best cheese shop I have ever been in. The pate is fabulous there.”

Another reason he chose to make the move to Waterstone at Wellesley was the beauty of the community itself.

“It’s brand new and done so well,” he said. “I’ve seen what my apartment is going to look like and it’s just lovely. It’s going to be beautiful.”

The most vital aspect of Waterstone at Wellesley for David, though, is the people who will make up the community itself.

“I know they’re going to get nice people in there,” he said. “That part is just so important. It’s so important to be with people who have interests, because I have a lot of interests. I want to live my life as much as I can. I’m very much looking forward to moving in.”
