‘Annie Get Your Gun’ and antique appraisals

Next week at Waterstone at Wellesley, we’re excited to host a musical performance of songs from “Annie Get Your Gun,” and a special “What’s it Worth?” event with Duncan Gray, president of the Sandwich Auction House.

On Tuesday, Waterstone regular Jack Craig will perform songs from Irving Berlin’s famous musical, “Annie Get Your Gun,” which was first performed on Broadway in 1946. The musical tells the story of sharpshooter Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill’s Wild West traveling show, featuring the well-known songs, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “You Can’t Get a Man with a Gun,” and “Anything You Can Do.”

The musical was a hit when it premiered, and in 1950 was made into a movie starring Betty Hutton and Howard Keel. Most recently, the musical was revived for London’s West End in 2009.

Then on Thursday at Waterstone, Duncan Gray is visiting from the Sandwich Auction House for “What’s it Worth?” Bring an antique you’ve always been curious about and Gray will appraise it for free! Gray is an auctioneer and estate expert who has worked in the antique and estate auction industry since graduating from Colby College in Waterville.

Since then, Sandwich Auction has conducted almost 1000 auctions and liquidated more than $20 million worth of items.

Each guest is limited to one small item.

We hope you’ll join us!
