‘Long Lives, the New Reality’ lecture series continues with discussion on mindful aging

We are hosting the second part in a four-part series, “Long Lives, the New Reality” next Monday with a discussion by Harvard University researcher Dr. Sayyed Fatemi who will lead the talk, “Erasing Perceived Limits of Old Age.”

Dr. Fatemi conducts research as a part of Harvard’s Langer Mindfulness Institute which has pioneered some of the most respected and fascinating scientific research on how our minds can shape our world. Using this discipline, he will join us at Waterstone at Wellesley to discuss how we can stretch the limits of age.

Before the lecture, you might be interested in reading this New York Times profile on the social psychologist Ellen Langer, who founded the institute, in the article, “What if Age Is Nothing but a Mind-Set?

Dr. Fatemi’s lecture follows a lecture by producer Susan Sprecher who visited Waterstone at the start of the month to discuss rethinking old age. We will host two more lectures as a part of the “Long Lives, the New Reality” series. The series was created to address the reality that more and more people are living longer than ever, causing us to question what old age means.

We hope you’ll join us for Dr. Fatemi’s thought-provoking lecture!
