Last-minute Thanksgiving recipes sure to impress

Need a delicious last-minute dish to take to a Thanksgiving party tomorrow? We've pulled together some great—and easy—options, including a twist on a classic from our very own executive chef and food service director, Shonna Sherman.

Last year, we shared Shonna's recipe for orange-cranberry relish, and it's still a great choice for a quick and easy side dish. The fresh relish complements more savory dishes and takes less than 20 minutes to prepare!

Orange-cranberry Relish
1 bag of fresh cranberries
1 whole orange cut into chunks (including the rind)
1/2 cup sugar - add more if you like your relish sweeter

To make: Put all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until desired consistency.

For other ideas on some great options, consult these well-timed round-ups:

1. Bustle's 16 Last-Minute Recipes include garlic lemon green beans, five-ingredient creamed spinach and twice-backed acorn squash. If you're a particular fan of sweet potatoes, you can also find a recipe for a 30-minute sweet potato soup, maple butter sweet potato wedges and sour cream balsamic sweet potatoes.

2. Patch has pulled together five last-minute dessert recipes that only require three ingredients each. Try the cinnamon sugar pie crust cookies, pumpkin angel food cake, candied walnuts, pumpkin whoopie pies or slow-cooker pumpkin cake.

3. The Washington Post has also compiled some great dishes, including vegetarian options. Their last-minute picks include oysters gin and tonic, cream soda butternut squash and cranberry-apple crisp.
