April is National Stress Awareness Month

Today is the first day of National Stress Awareness Month, a time to decrease the stress in your life. As experts note, stress increases the risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke and it also leads to poor eating and sleeping habits.

However, by monitoring your levels of stress and working to decrease the amount of stressors in your life, you can impact your health for the better.

WebMD has some great suggestions for activities to relieve stress, including writing, meditation and yoga.

Relieving stress can also be accomplished simply through participating in activities you enjoy. At Waterstone at Wellesley, we're pleased to offer our residents daily activities for the mind and body. This includes exercise programming as well as social clubs and opportunities to get out and about in town.

With our activities, residents are able to stay social and involved in the community, helping to keep stress at bay. There are also certain events we invite the public to, which can be found here. You are more than welcome to join us for any of these events if you're looking to have fun and take a little break.

Two upcoming events are:

Geoff Hicks to play the piano
Tuesday, April 7 at 2:30 p.m.

Archie Richards to cover Sinatra
