Tomorrow is the second part of our Summer Concert Series at Waterstone at Wellesley. The Wolverine Jazz Band is visiting to play traditional jazz in our courtyard at 6:30 p.m.
We love holding the series each summer because, along with our residents, we love getting outdoors. If you can’t make the concert, there are plenty of fun activities around town that will allow you to take advantage of the beautiful outdoors.
A few of our favorites are:
Concerts at Town Hall Green
Each Wednesday, concerts are held at the Town Hall Green from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with food available for sale from the Rotary Club. The upcoming schedule is:
- July 22, DeadBeat "Grateful Dead Tribute Band"
- July 29, Tom Nutile's Big Band "The Swing You Love"
- Aug. 5, The Glamour Girls "Dance Hits of the 40's-90's"
Walks through Wellesley College
Wellesley College has a notably beautiful campus and walking is an easy but effective way for older adults to stay fit. Combining the two just seems natural. While on campus, you can also visit the Davis Museum at Wellesley College.
Trails through town
There are also 26 miles of marked trails through Wellesley, including the Charles River Path, accessible near our community, the Brook Path and the Boulder Brook Reservation Trail and Centennial Reservation Trail, both Woodland trails.
Boston Harbor cruises
While you do have to venture into Boston for this one, it’s well worth out. Our residents recently took the Boston Harbor’s Landmarks cruise with Odyssey Cruises and had a wonderful day. The cruise took residents by landmarks along Boston Harbor, including the site of the Boston Tea Party, Bunker Hill Monument and Old North Church, as well as several islands.
We will also continue to host fun activities here at our community throughout the rest of the summer. Check back on our calendar soon to see what’s going on next month!
