Wellesley Council on Aging good local resource for older adults

At Waterstone at Wellesley, we often partner with the Wellesley Council on Aging on great events, like the recent Senior Art Show, hosted by the Wellesley Free Library, and a fun fishing derby in June.

The Wellesley COA is a great local resource for older adults, offering a whole host of programs, including art classes, book discussions, exercise classes and day trips to local places of interest, as well as summer cruises and more.

The council is also a great way for older adults who live at home to stay social and active and meet other older adults in the area.

In addition to activities, the center also facilitates legal assistance, transportation for Wellesley seniors and assists seniors in obtaining health insurance.

Be sure to check out their newsletter “Highlights” for updates on events the COA is hosting and other important news. Upcoming events include:

  • Current Events Discussion Group, Tuesdays, July 7 through Aug. 25 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Ice Cream Social, Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m.
  • Birthday Bash (for birthdays in May through August), Friday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m.
