Late August events at Waterstone

We’re reveling in the final months of summer at Waterstone at Wellesley and have a handful of fun events planned for the end of the month, including the final part of our Summer Concert Series.

Tomorrow, the series wraps with a visit from Swing Café who will play in our courtyard as the sun goes down. The band combines lead and harmony vocals, with the guitar, mandolin, saxophone, clarinet, double bass and drums for soothing jazz, swing and rockabilly sounds.

Then on Saturday, we can’t wait to host Opera on Tap, a fun and energetic live opera show. The mission of Opera on Tap is to expose a wider audience to opera outside of the typical concert hall, separating it from its stuffy stereotype as an elitist art form.

The performers will sing opera classics to a smaller audience at Waterstone to share the joys of opera for enthusiasts and newcomers alike!

To end the month, Art Matters owner Jane Blair is visiting on Monday to discuss the life and art of Henri Matisse, the famed twentieth century painter known for his use of color, patterns and rich texture. Blair visits monthly to share her vast knowledge of the artistic world and has been an art educator for more than 20 years.

We hope you’ll join us for all or any of these events!
