Music, opera and technology in August

As summer winds down, we hope you’ll join us to soak up the last month of the season with a unique line-up of August events at our community. We’ll do more than just help you escape the summer heat — we’ll introduce you to new music, performances and ideas!

On Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m., Opera on Tap will bring an exciting performance to Waterstone. This group of classically-trained singers aims to bring opera to unique venues and make it a viable form of art, and they never disappoint!

Stop on in again on Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. for a concert by the Kadima Band. The group will introduce you to Klezmer music, an upbeat genre from Eastern Europe that relies on the sounds of clarinets, trumpets, violins and flutes. We’re hoping the weather will be cool enough for an outdoor concert, but we promise to entertain you either way! Check out the photo to the right of the Kadima Band performing at our community last July!

Geoff Hicks will bring his talents to you on Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. for a piano concert. He’s performed in front of dignitaries around the world, so you won’t want to miss this impressive performance!

Stimulate your mind on Aug. 21 when Professor Mary Cronin of Boston College discusses how 21st-century technology is changing the world of management. Having developed Boston College’s first internet business and e-commerce strategy courses, you can be sure she knows her stuff!
