Professor Gary Hylander, Ph.D., teaches American History at Stonehill University and has been a regular speaker at several EPOCH communities for quite a while. His style is informative while fun and intriguing at the same time, which is why he's such a hit with audiences of all types, from his students to the senior groups he often speaks to. In fact, he was named one of the top 25 history professors in the United States recently, an honor well deserved given how engaging his discussions are.

Waterstone walls offer a feast of color and art for every taste

Enter the lobby at Waterstone at Wellesley and you’ll be drawn towards four handmade silk tapestries by Tim Harding. The vibrant display of textures and color are one beautiful sampling of the widely varied collection of styles and mediums displayed throughout the property. Choosing the art for a 207,742-square-foot luxury senior living community was an exciting proposition, says Waterstone art coordinator Mary Dawley, owner of Newton-based Chestnut Design. In fact, she said Ted Tye, managing partner with National Development, felt it could make or break the project.

Two hundred and seventy-five residents, prospective residents, guests, dignitaries and staff attended a ribbon-cutting open house event May 23 at Waterstone at Wellesley, a beautiful new senior living community located at 27 Washington St.  Speakers included Barbara Seale, chair, Wellesley Board of Selectman; Larry Gerber, CEO, EPOCH Senior Living; Ted Tye, managing partner, National Development; Kristine Tilton, executive director of the community; and Mark Clemonts, who, along with his wife, was one of the first of the community’s residents.  State Representative Alice Piesch was schedule

Waterstone at Wellesley is excited to be hosting a grand opening celebration on May 23 at 6 p.m.  At 6:30 p.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature Alice Peisch, state representative; Barbara Seale, chair, Wellesley Board of Selectman; Larry Gerber, CEO, EPOCH Senior Living; and Ted Tye, managing partner, National Development.

Meet Waterstone at Wellesley concierge Frank Mazzola

Frank Mazzola joined the Waterstone team about a month ago as the concierge, mainly for the independent living side of the community. He’s truly a jack of all trades, and helps with everything from making reservations and purchasing event tickets for residents to taking residents to appointments, helping management, and really filling in wherever he is needed. It’s an ideal role for Frank, as he’s one of the more outgoing and personable guys you’ll meet. “I make sure all the people living here are happy,” he said. “If they have questions, I find the answer.

Lisa Beckwith joins Waterstone team

Having a team of well-rounded individuals with diverse interests is an important part of forming the team here at Waterstone. Which is why we're happy Lisa Beckwith of Westford has been named sales director at EPOCH Assisted Living at Waterstone, the assisted living community at Waterstone at Wellesley. Beckwith earned her degree from Fitchburg State College and has worked in a variety of industries, including major aerospace company Raytheon and in the fields of marketing, publishing, illustration and photography.

Maureen Horan joins Waterstone at Wellesley team as Wellness Director

Maureen Horan, a Sudbury resident with more than 15 years’ experience in senior living, has been named wellness director at EPOCH Assisted Living at Waterstone, the assisted living community at Waterstone at Wellesley. Maureen earned her degree in nursing from University of Bridgeport. She worked at Beth Israel Hospital for seven years; as a nurse manager at a 41-bed long term care facility for three years; and as a resident service director at an assisted living community for five years before joining the Waterstone team.
