Meet Randy Farmer, the Waterstone at Wellesley Executive Chef

We’re excited to have a top-notch chef on the Waterstone staff and would like to introduce you to him. Randy Farmer is a classically trained chef with more than 25 years’ experience in fine dining. He will be working as our executive chef and food service director, leading Waterstone’s culinary direction. Randy began his chef training under a well-known Swiss chef while working at a Florida country club. He studied for about 13 years before moving to Maine – Bar Harbor, specifically – to work at the Rose Garden Restaurant as a sous chef.

Waterstone at Wellesley hosts Community Open House

Waterstone at Wellesley, 27 Washington St., will host a community Open House on Sunday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Light refreshments will be served as visitors receive guided tours of the community. No RSVP is required. Anyone is welcome to attend this relaxed event. Kristine Tilton, executive director, along with other members of the staff, will lead folks around the community and answer any questions anyone might have. It's a great no-pressure way to see the community firsthand, speak to the team members there, and get a feel for the atmosphere of the community itself.

Dr. Timothy Murphy hosts, “Why Do We Feel So Old When We Get Old?”

Waterstone at Wellesley will host Dr. Timothy Murphy of Weston Primary Care for a free “Lunch and Learn” presentation entitled, “Why Do We Feel So Old When We Get Old?” at Waterstone at Wellesley, 27 Washington St., on Tuesday, April 17 at 12 p.m. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Dr. Murphy will maintain an office at the Waterstone at Wellesley Wellness Center, where he will see patients or perform house calls for residents of the senior living community. Train Boston and Waterstone at Wellesley partner to provide fitness, physical therapy to residents

We're excited about another great partnership that's been developed here at Waterstone, this time with Train Boston. Train Boston, a medically-based fitness and physical therapy provider in Wellesley, has partnered with us to provide top-quality fitness and wellness opportunities to Waterstone at Wellesley residents. Train Boston will send physical therapists and trainers to Waterstone at Wellesley for individualized personal training, therapy and group classes.

Did you know? Washers and dryers in the Waterstone apartments

At our informational sessions, we’ve had a number of people ask about amenities in the apartments, and in particular, washers and dryers. Let’s clear things up: the independent living apartments at Waterstone at Wellesley will include top-of-the-line washers and dryers. In the assisted living apartments at Waterstone, washers and dryer rooms will be included on each floor, but the individual apartments will not have them.

Sculptor selected to incorporate piece of Grossman’s history

Nadya Volicer, a sculptor and installation artist, has been selected to bring a piece of history to life in Waterstone Wellesley. Nadya has been commissioned to create an art installation that will feature the fiery orange bricks of Grossman’s Hardware, formerly situated on the Waterstone at Wellesley site. Ted Tye of National Development saved the glazed and distinctive bricks that locals remember well.
