An Inside Look at Our Unique Arts & Crafts Architectural Design

We talk a lot about the Waterstone at Wellesley difference and how it relates to the luxurious lifestyle you’ll find at our breathtaking community in Wellesley, MA. Much of our difference revolves around the upscale aspects of living here, but we don’t want to forget one very big difference that sets us apart from other senior living communities: our unique Arts & Crafts design.

What is the difference between independent and assisted living?

Because our Waterstone at Wellesley staff work every day with seniors and their families to help them find a residence suited for their needs and interests, we sometimes forget that for those just looking into senior living, the terms can be confusing.

Welcoming Tower Hill Botanical to Waterstone

The weather is warm, the trees are green, the flowers are blooming in our courtyard and we're kicking off this warm weather season with some unique events coming up in the next couple weeks. That includes a visit from the insightful team at Tower Hill Botanical, who will bring their knowledge of horticulture and related topics to our residents and guests. We're also continuing our very popular local author series with author Dr.

Musical performances, furry friends and a Nor'easter at Waterstone

It may be a short month, but we've done a lot here at Waterstone to pack February full of interesting events, good music and even better company. From musical performances that had our entire community tapping their toes to delicious Valentine’s treats to weathering our recent winter storm with ease, it seemed there was always something happening. Hopefully you made it through the recent snowstorm as pleasantly as we did. We held an impromptu “Martinis in the Storm” event as residents, family members and guests sipped cocktails, played word games and watched the snow fall among friends.

Welcoming Chef Ming Tsai to Waterstone

As mentioned in a previous post, we're excited to welcome Chef Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger, a well-respected Wellesley restaurant, to our community on Monday, Dec. 10 for a book signing. Ming will be signing copies of his new book, "Simply Ming in Your Kitchen." Ming is a well-known culinary figure both in Boston and beyond, so it's a special honor to welcome him to our community for this event. He opened Blue Ginger in 1998, having studied both mechanical engineering at Yale and the culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.

Skinners Auction House presents, “What’s it Worth?”

Do you have an antique or two in your house, or perhaps collecting dust in your closet or attic, that you've always been curious about but never knew quite how to use? Most of us have at least one family heirloom, or an old and nearly-forgotten antique we've never figured out what to do with.

Exploring our creative side at Waterstone

The residents at Waterstone at Wellesley and EPOCH Assisted Living at Waterstone are a diverse bunch. Many have unique interests and passions, which is part of the reason they chose Waterstone over other senior living options: we have opportunities for them to explore their interests and to discover new ones. A growing group of residents, for example, has recently uncovered their mutual interest in art. And not just fine art in museums and hanging on walls, but their own art.

Maureen earned her degree in nursing from University of Bridgeport. She worked at Beth Israel Hospital for seven years; as a nurse manager at a 41-bed long term care facility for three years; and as a resident service director at an assisted living community for five years before joining the Waterstone team.

Did you know? Pets at Waterstone at Wellesley

Some of the most popular questions at our information sessions have to do with our pet policy. It seems many Wellesleyites and their neighbors have a lot of friends of the furry, four-legged variety! Pets are important members of many households and we understand that, so pets will be permitted at the discretion of the management. All pets must show proof of up-to-date vaccinations and a health exam in order to be considered, and there is a one-time, non-refundable pet fee of $500 per pet.
