Author’s Month at Waterstone

May is Author’s Month at Waterstone at Wellesley, and we’re ecstatic to be hosting several exciting authors for book presentations in the coming weeks. Guests include former Boston Globe reporter and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Kurkjian, Boston historian Anthony Sammarco, Channel 5 reporter Ted Reinstein and New York Times bestselling author B.A. Shapiro.

On May 9, we’ll welcome author and “Chronicle” reporter Ted Reinstein for a presentation of his new book, “Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds.” A book signing will follow the presentation, with copies available for purchase. A New England native, Reinstein has been a reporter for “Chronicle,” WCVB-TV/Boston’s award-winning nightly news magazine, since 1997. He’s the author of one previous book, “New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories.”

On May 12, former Boston Globe reporter, Pulitzer Prize winner and author Stephen Kurkjian will join us for a discussion his critically-acclaimed 2015 book, “Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off the World’s Greatest Art Heist.” A book signing will follow the presentation, with copies available for purchase. “Master Thieves” has received mention in the New York Times Book Review, the Washington Post, Boston Globe and Kirkus Reviews. Kurkjian is a forty-year veteran of the Boston Globe; he is the paper’s former Washington bureau chief and a founding member of its investigative Spotlight Team.

On May 19, Boston historian and author Anthony Sammarco will read from his 2014 book, “Lost Boston,” which takes the reader on a nostalgic journey to explore buildings and spaces that have disappeared from Boston over the last 150 years. A book signing will follow the presentation, with copies available for purchase. Sammarco is the author of 60 books on his native city, including “Boston: A Century of Progress” and “Downtown Boston.”  

Then, on May 24, we’ll host New York Times bestselling author B.A. Shapiro for a discussion of her 2015 novel, “The Muralist.” A book signing will follow the presentation, with copies available for purchase. Shapiro is the author of seven novels, including “The Art Forager,” “Blind Spot” and “Blameless,” as well as four screenplays and one nonfiction book, “The Big Squeeze.”
